Frank S. Abate

Mr. Frank S. Abate, age 94 of 150 Franklin St, Bristol, died Friday, September 15, 2006 at the Grand Islander Nursing Home, Middletown. He was the husband of the late Phoebe (Roderick) Abate. Born in Italy, he was a son of the late Carmelo and Anna (Vento) Abate. He was a self employed fisherman for 30 years before retiring. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeths Church, Bristol. He is survived by two step-daughters; Laura C. Aguiar of Bristol, Dolores C. Breeze of Butchel, OH, a sister, Rose Teaney, Woodbridge, VA. Also survived by Six step-grandchildren, thirteen great step-grandchildren, six great great step-grandchildren. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death, by a son Frank S. Abate, Jr, two brothers; Fortunato “Foot” and Salvatore Abate, and a sister Anna Peadon. Funeral Services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, Tuesday at 8:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in St. Elizabeths Church, 577 Wood St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours, Monday, 4:00-7:00 PM.
