Fortunata Mascena

Miss Fortunata “Phoebe” Mascena, 81 of Benjamin Church Manor, 1014 Hope St., Bristol, died Monday, June 29, 2009 at her home. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Maria (Russo) Mascena. A homemaker, she was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol. She was a member of the Benjamin Church Manor Tenants Association and she loving making crafts, knitting, Crocheting and an avid animal lover, especially her parakeet, Petey. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Angelo and Santo D. Mascena and a sister, Mary M. Dion. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Wednesday, July 1 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visitation Wednesday morning only from 9:00-10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Benjamin Church Manor Tenants Association, 1014 Hope Street, Bristol, RI 02809.
