Brig. General Everett T. Francis, age 89 of Tupelo Street, Bristol, loving husband of Theresa (Cavallaro)Francis, his wife of 56 years, died Sunday, February 5, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bristol, RIand a lifelong resident he was the son of the late Frank and Etelvina (Cordeiro)Francis. Everett owned and operated Francis Brothers Reality, ELJ Inc., A-Blast Inc. and Bristol Golf Club. Everett served Pacific Campaign during WWII with the USArmy 295th Assault Signal Company, he was awarded the Silver and Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart for his Valor he was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the field. Everett was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church, Bristol. He was a Brig. General RIM Commander of the Bristol Train of Artillery, member Bristol Veterans Council, ITAMS, VFW, Bristol County Home Builders, East Warren Rod and Gun Club and Warren Portuguese American Club. Beside his loving wife Theresa he is survived by his sons, Everett Francis, Vincent Francis, Kevin Francis, Christopher Francis and his wife Patricia, his daughter, Christine Matrone and her husband Richard, grandchildren, Nikola, Christopher and Casey Francis, Corina and Lara Matrone, sister, Laura Sardinha and brothers, Louis and Joseph Francis, his brother-in-law, Louis Cavallaro also many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Faria and two brothers, Charles and Frank Francis. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 11:00 AMin St. Elizabeth's Church, 577 Wood St., Bristol. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut St., Bristol. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
