Eugene T. Geremia

September 27, 1957 — December 18, 2023

Eugene T. Geremia, 66, of Bristol passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023 in Bristol. He was the son of the late Philip and Daislina (Celetti) Geremia. He loved his work, as a youth at the Fogarty Center in Providence and later at the, then new, Cranston Center. He worked at the Maher Center Sheltered Workshop since moving to Bristol in 1986 until its closing in 2016. He was very dedicated to his work and to his routine, getting up every day and going to work and made many friends there. In addition to Family, he had a passion for music - from 45s to Albums to Cassettes and CDs. He lacked the fine motor skills to play an instrument, but when it came to Pop, Country, and Rock and Roll, from the 50s to the 2000s his knowledge was astonishing. His recording collection included thousands of songs and he loved being challenged or challenging others with "Whats the Title of that Song?". He could tell you the Title, Performers Name, Release Date, and whether it was a re-make then go directly to it in his collection or ask you to buy it for him. His next favorite game was "Tug-o-War". He spent much of his quiet time carefully organizing and cataloging his collection. Eugene loved to Dance, anytime, anywhere. His Mom and Dad ran arts and crafts activities for the handicapped called "The Happy Group" in their home. Dances, with Mom making the Hall arrangements and inviting all his friends, Dad spinning Eugenes records, and Eugene DJing and leading the Dancing. He enjoyed many family Holiday dinners, gatherings and celebrations. He was also predeceased by his Auntie Ann, cousins Maria and P.J. who loved him dearly and with whom he spent much time. Eugene is survived by his only brother Frank P. Geremia and wife Michele, along with nieces Dr. Gina Geremia and Andrea Trottier (Geremia) and her husband Scott and great-nephews Seth and Sean Trottier and great-niece Abigail Leighton and step-nephews Jamie and Jeremy Roderick as well as 3 generations of cousins and friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents. The family wishes to thank the staff at Silver Creek Nursing Home, Harmony Hospice, the Bristol MAHER Center, and most of all LIFE Inc., who touched Eugenes life for their care, compassion and love and making him a part of their family. For all those whose hearts Eugene touched, know that you touched his. Visiting Hour will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol from 11:00 AM 12:00 PM.
