Esther A. Kenna

Mrs. Esther A. (Medeiros) Kenna, age 80, of 53 Cliff Drive, Bristol, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Westview Health Care Center, West Warwick. She was the beloved wife of the late Merrill C. Kenna, Sr. Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late Antone and Mary (Sylvia) Medeiros. She was a longtime resident of Bristol before moving to Barrington 4 years ago. Esther was employed by the New England Telephone Company for 25 years before retiring. She was a communicant of St. Thomas The Apostle Church, Warren, a member of the Meals on Wheels program, the Altar Guild of St. Michaels Church in Bristol and the Barrington Senior Center. She is survived by two sons, Merrill C. Kenna, Jr. of Indianapolis, IN, George A. Kenna and his wife, Nancy of North Kingstown, grandchildren, Jennifer L. Lang of Johnston and John A. Kenna of North Kingstown and a sister, Dolores Botelho of Warren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers; Antone Medeiros, Jr. and Leonard Medeiros, and a sister, Lorraine Chaunt. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Monday, April 7, 2008 at 8:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in St. Thomas The Apostle Church, 500 Metacom Avenue, Warren. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting hours Sunday, 4:00-7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels of RI, 70 Bath St., Providence, RI 02908.
