Miss Emily Santos, age 91, of Benjamin Church Manor, Bristol died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 in Silver Creek Manor Nursing Home, 7 Creek Lane, Bristol. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Armando and Conceicao (Almeida) Santos. She was a machine operator at Converse Rubber Co., formerly in Bristol for 25 years retiring in 1980. Following her retirement, she worked in the housekeeping department of the RI Veteran Home in Bristol for 12 years, retiring again in 1992. A very faith filled woman, she was a communicant of St. Elizabeths Church, Bristol. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing embroidery work. She will be sadly missed by two nieces, Dorothy OConnor Castro and Gloria E. Pasqual and three nephews, Robert L. and Harold E. Santos, all of Bristol and the Rev. Joseph D. Santos, Jr., Parochial Administrator of Holy Name Church in Providence. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph D. Santos and two sisters, Mary OConnor and Irene Santos. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 9:00 AM with a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Elizabeths Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours Wednesday, May 6, 5:00-8:00 PM.
