Elvira Stanzione

Mrs. Elvira (Biddle) Stanzione, age 83, of 41 Duffield Road, Bristol, died Thursday, May 22, 2008 at her home. She was the wife of Gaetano J. Stanzione, her husband of 60 years. Born in Providence and raised in Riverside, she was a daughter of the late Winfield and Flora (Mann) Biddle. A resident of Bristol for 60 years, she was a supervisor for the Franklin Printing Co. formerly in Bristol for 18 years, retiring in 1968. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol. She is survived in addition to her husband by three children; Gaetano A. Stanzione of Socorro, NM, Donna Medeiros and Bruce Stanzione, both of Bristol, a sister, Edith Gagnon of Barrington and six grandchildren; Anthony Medeiros, Jr., Bruce Stanzione, Jr., Samantha, Nicholas, Gaetano S. and Angelina Stanzione. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Dady and Dorothy Turillo. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting hours, Monday, May 26, 2008 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse Services of Newport and Bristol Counties, 1184 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
