Mrs. Elizabeth “Betty” (Jackson) Tattrie, age 83, of Bristol, RI passed away Thursday, August 21, 2008. She was the wife of the late Allen U.T. Tattrie, Jr. Born in Warren, RI and a resident of Bristol for most of her life, she was the daughter of the late Cyrus and Sarah (Manchester) Jackson. She was a 1942 graduate of Warren High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and a cheerleader. Betty retired after over twenty years as a benefits specialist at American Tourister in Warren, RI. Other notable positions include over twenty years as a worker at Crown Fastener in Warren and during World War II for the Bristol War Price Ration Board. As a member of St. Michaels Episcopal Church, Betty was a member of the Choir and Altar Guild. She is survived by a son, Allen U.T. Tattrie, III of Hopedale, MA, daughters, Sarah (Tattrie) and her husband Salvatore Abate, Ann Lee (Tattrie) and her husband Steven Sustakowsky and June (Montaro) Tattrie, all of Bristol. Besides her immediate family, she will be remembered by grandchildren, Shawn A. Sustakowsky, Kim (Abate) and her husband Marc Leves que, Jennifer Abate, William R., Jr. and his wife Elizabeth (DaSilva) Tattrie, all of Bristol, A. Christopher Tattrie of Hopedale, MA, Bryan J. and his wife, Nadia (De LaTorre) Tattrie of Manchester, CT., great grandchildren, Megan, Kaitlin, Colin, Sawyer, Nathan and Logan and many close friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William R. Tattrie and a daughter-in-law, Jeannie Tattrie. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, RI, Monday, August 25, 2008 at 9:00 AM with a Celebration of her Life with Eucharist at 10:00 AM in St. Michaels Episcopal Church, 399 Hope Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting hours, Sunday, August 24 from 2:00-6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Center at Milford Regional Medical Center, Dev. Office, 14 Prospect Street, Milford, MA 01757-9971 or to the Altar Guild Fund, St. Michaels Episcopal Church, 399 Hope Street, Bristol, RI 02809 would be greatly appreciated.
