Elizabeth M. Fenton

Mrs. Elizabeth M. (DForest) Fenton, age 88 of 53 Townsend Street, Barrington, died Friday, April 6, 2007 at the Orchard View Manor Nursing Home, East Providence. She was the wife of the late Dr. Paul Fenton. Born in Connecticut and was a resident ofBarrington for over 50 years, she was the daughter of the late John and Hazel (Felty) DeForest. Mrs. Fenton graduated Cum Laude from Mt. Holyoke College, Class of 1939. She taught Biology and General Science in a private School. She was a member of the Peace Corp in Costa Rica in the 1980s, a member of the American Field Service. Volunteered in Scouting, she ran for School Committee in Barrington as a Democrat in the 1960s. Her interest were gardening, art and music. She is survived by two sons, John Fenton and his wife Margaret Small, and Robert Fenton and his wife Emily Safford, both of Barrington,a grandson Paul Fenton of Boston and a brother, Dr. Robert DeForest. In addition toher husband and parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Kay Fields. Her funeral services are private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
