Eleanor S. Rodrigues, 95, of Warren passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Raymond J. Rodrigues Sr. for 47 years until his passing in 1998.
Born in Bristol, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Amelia (Batty) Pagano.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Church, a past member of the Holy Rosary Society and the Holy Ghost Committee. She was a proud graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Class of 1948.
Eleanor was a strong and hardworking woman. She was the backbone of Rods Grille, dedicating her career to the restaurant from the day it opened in 1955 and served as its longest employee. Whether she was in the back room of Rods cutting potatoes and making sauce or at the casino playing the slots, Eleanor always had a joke and a clever one-liner. She enjoyed conversations with family, friends and customers where she shared invaluable lessons about work and life. She spent her later days doing crossword puzzles, eating candy, and watching Game Show Network. We will always remember her through her recipes, especially her jelly, banana bread, and Italian cookies.
She is survived by her loving son Raymond J. Rodrigues Jr. and his wife Adeline; her cherished granddaughters Ashley Colella and her husband Charles, and Meghan Rodrigues; and her precious great-granddaughter Vivian Colella, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond J. Rodrigues Sr., her daughter Sandra Ann Rodrigues, her parents Frank and Amelia (Batty) Pagano. She was the sister of the late Sadie Stanzione, Mary Stanzione, Lena Costa, Jeanette McConnell, Bart Pagano, Amelia Romano, Frank Pagano, Catherine Lombardi, Stella Catalfano, and Rita Gallinelli.
