Eleanor P. Medeiros

Mrs. Eleanor P. (Almeida) Medeiros, age 84, of 40 Coggeshall Ave, Bristol, died Thursday, December 10, 2009 at the Warren Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late William R. Medeiros. Born in Fall River, MA., she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Sadie (Sousa) Almeida. Eleanor worked for the former Desilets Nursing Home in Warren for 28 years retiring in 2000 as their social services director. Eleanor was a communicant of St. Elizabeths Church and she was also a local Portrait Artist. She will be sadly missed by her three sons, William R. Medeiros, Jr., Joseph Medeiros and his wife Marianne, Thomas Medeiros and his wife Kerri all of Bristol, a daughter, Mary Lou Benevides and her husband Kenneth of Bristol, ten grandchildren, Sarah, Lindsey, Lisa, Nicholas, Natasha, J.T., Chase, Katie, Jacob and Julia,three great grandchildren, Jayden, Eleana and Addison, anda brother, Jerry Almeida of Port St. Lucie, FL. Beside her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother Carl Almeida. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service Friday, December 18, 2009 at 1:00pm in St. Marys Cemetery Chestnut St., Bristol. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
