Eleanor Ida Mayopoulos

Mrs. Eleanor Ida (Raifsnider) Mayopoulos, 71, passed away Tuesday February 19, 2008 at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Eleanor was born September 13, 1936 in Reading, PA, daughter of the late Joseph and Ethel Raifsnider. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harry B. Mayopoulos. Prior to moving to Charlotte, NC, Eleanor lived in Bristol, RI. She was a docent and a member of the board of directors of Linden Place, an historic home in Bristol. Surviving Eleanor are her son, Timothy J. Mayopoulos and his wife, Amy Lefkof, of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Joanne Mayopoulos and her husband, Robert Donato, of Charlotte, NC; sons, David Mayopoulos and his wife, Judy, of Litchfield, NH and Michael Mayopoulos and his wife, Kristi, of Owasso, OK; sister, Geraldine Wagonseller and her husband, Wallace, of Oley, PA; and brother, Joel Raifsnider and his wife, Betty, of Fleetwood, PA. Eleanor was the adoring grandmother of Gus, Katie, Isaac, Eli & Hannah, and “Mi-Mi” to Crystal and Michael Reed. She is also survived by step great-granddaughter Jaida Buchanan and several loving nephews and nieces. A service to celebrate her life will be held Friday February 22, at 12:00 Noon at Hankins and Whittington Dilworth Chapel, 1111 East Blvd, Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside service will be Tuesday, February 26, at 9:00 A.M. in theNorth Burial Ground, Hope Street, Route 114, at Colt StatePark,Bristol, RI.
