Edward Medeiros

Edward Medeiros, 96, of Bristol passed away peacefully on Friday, March 22, at his home with his family at his side. He was the husband of the late Dolores 'Del' (Lombardi) Medeiros for 62 years before her passing in 2013. Born in Bristol, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Lewis) Medeiros. 'Eddie' lived a simple life. He was a WWll Veteran and worked for Kaiser Aluminum for years before retiring and later worked for Head Start. Edward was a devoted husband and father to his children and enjoyed family get togethers along with unforgettable annual vacations up north. He was an avid sports fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He also enjoyed daily visits to Colt State Park where he would watch the cargo tankers go by along with deer watching during the winter months. Edward is survived by his children: Edward R. Medeiros, Ann Bancroft, Elizabeth Harnois (Michael), Katherine Lescault, Linda Hill (Michael), Steven Medeiros (Kerry); his grandchildren: Jennifer, Bonnie, Laurie, Peter, Jonathan, Kristina, Rebecca, Shawn, Carrie, Michael Robert, Jennie Lynn, Christopher, Ryan, Samantha; his great grandchildren: Alex, Jacob, Tyler, Lily, Andrew, Jonathan, Jr., Olivia, Tara, Tori, Trey, Sharohn, Shakyra, Anthony, Jr., Jadin, Shane; his great great grandchildren: Taelyn and Kyle, Jr.; and his brother Manuel Medeiros. Edward was preceded in death by his wife Dolores; his daughter Maryellen Medeiros; his parents: Frank and Mary; and his brothers: Manny (Babe), Frank,Jr., Everett, and Joseph (Jr) and his sisters: Lorraine, Mary and Lorraine (Mattos). Visiting hours we be held at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 4:00 -7:00 PM. His funeral will start from Sansone Funeral Home on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 10:00 AM with a Service at Sansone Funeral Home at 10:00 AM. Ed will be laid to rest with his wife and daughter at St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol.
