Edward O. Maher, 80 of 480 Metacom Ave, Bristol and formerly of Wilson St., Bristol, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the RI Veterans Home, Bristol with his companion by his side. Born in Boston, MA a son of the late Edward T. and Margaret R. (Haggerty) Maher Ed worked as an Accountant for many years He served in the US Army and Air Force he received the National Defense Medal and the Army Occupation Medal (Germany). While in Germany he played football for the Army loved sports. Sang in the Bristol Senior Chorus, Humming and Strumming Veterans. He also was on the Veterans Home Residence Council. He will be sadly missed by his companion Judith Perkins of Bristol and his brother John T. Maher of Kennebunk, ME Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Owen P. Maher Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the Rhode Island Veterans Home Chapel 480 Metacom Ave, Bristol.
