Douglas G. Travers

Mr. Douglas G. Travers, age 61, of 4 Carol Ave., Bristol, died Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Cindy A. (Lawrence) Travers. Born in Bristol, and a lifelong residence he was a son of Caroline (Martino) Travers of Bristol and the late Joseph Travers. Mr. Travers was an inspector for the Raytheon Corp in Portsmouth for many years. Mr. Travers was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol. Some of Dougs passions were his cars and his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. He also had his private pilots license to fly small planes, and was a collector of model cars. He is survived by two sons, Chad Travers of Bristol, Stephen Turcotte of Warren, a daughter Belinda Andreozzi of Illinois, four grandchildren and a brother, Roger Travers of East Providence. In addition to his wife and father, he was preceded in death by a sister Brenda Hawksley. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, Monday, December 24, 2007 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope St., Bristol. Visiting Hours Sunday, December 23, 2007 2:00-5:00 PM.
