Douglas A. Rene

Mr. Douglas A. Rene, age 52, of King St., Bristol, died Monday, December 7, at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the long time companion of Paula C. Squires of Bristol. Born in Fall River, MA, and a lifelong resident of Bristol, he was a son of the late Conrad J. Rene and the late Dorothy (Ferreira) Cushman. He was a machine operator for Royal Diversified for 15 years, retiring in 2003. He previously worked for Bristol Metal Company. He is survived in addition to his companion by three children, Eric G. Squires of Bristol, Douglas A. Rene, Jr. and Deidre A. Rene, both of Texas, a brother, Clifford Ferreira of Bristol, his beloved cat Chickie and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death in addition to his parents, by a brother, Conrad J. “Cookie” Rene, Jr. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours Friday, December 11, 2009 from 5:00-8:00 PM.
