Dorothea F. Lucas

Ms. Dorothea F. Lucas, age 88, of Kelley Avenue, Rumford, died Friday, May 22, 2009 in Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. Born in Bronx, NY, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Florence M. (Brennan) Lucas. A resident of Rumford for over 30 years, she previously resided in Providence. She was a graduate of the Lockwood High School in Warwick. She was a traffic manager for the Brown and Sharpe Corp in South Kingstown for 45 years, retiring in 1985. She is survived by a son, Michael A. Lucas and his wife, Lorraine, of Warren, three grandchildren, Sharon A. Santosuosso and her husband, Lewis, of Salem, NH, Michael A. Lucas, Jr. of Bristol and Jenny D. Lucas of Providence, two great grandchildren, Taylor and Ryan Santosuosso, a brother, John H. Lucas, Jr. of Springfield, MO. Funeral services will be held from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 9:00 AM with a service at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visitation Wednesday morning at 9:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Bristol Animal Shelter, 11 Broad Common Road, Box 155, Bristol, RI 02809.
