Domenica M. 'Minnie' Dunbar

Mrs. Domenica M. “Minnie” (Goglia) Dunbar, age 100 of Metacom Avenue, Bristol, died Thursday, May 14, 2009 at the Grace Barker Nursing Center, Warren. She was the wife of the late LeRoy R. Dunbar. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Luigi and Francesca (Romano) Goglia. Mrs. Dunbar was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Class of 1925 and the Arthur Angelo School of Hairdressing. She owned and operated Minnies Beauty Shop formerly on Franklin Street for many years, then she went on to work in the payroll dept. of the Dixon Corp. for a number of years, retiring in 1970. She was a communicant of St. Marys Church, Bristol a member of Hope Circle # 70, Daughters of Isabella and one of the founding members of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She is survived by a son, Chester R. Dunbar of Las Vegas, NV and a daughter, Frances E. Pray and her husband, Tim of Bristol, four grandchildren, Renee L. Stitch of Ashland, OR, Angela N. Walker of Las Vegas, NV, Timothy M. and Nicholas A. Pray, both of Bristol and five great grandchildren, Gavin and Baylen Stitch and Kayleigh, Rylend and Hannah Walker. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Peter, Torquato, Egista, Mario and George Goglia and two sisters, Elvira E. DellaMorte and Felicia M. DellaMorte. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours, Monday, May 18, from 5:00-8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Marys Church “Restore Her Beauty” Fund, 330 Wood Street, Bristol, RI 02809 or to the Grace Barker Nursing Center - Patient Activities Fund, 54 Barker Avenue, Warren, RI 02885.
