Catherine A. Cabral

Mrs. Catherine A. (Arouca) Cabral, age 87, of 427 High St., Bristol, died Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at St. Elizabeths Manor, Bristol. She was the wife of the late Victor J. Cabral. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Joseph V. and Anna (Gonsalves) Arouca. She was a Nurses Aide at the RI Veterans Home in Bristol for 20 years, retiring in 1984. She was a communicant of St. Marys Church, Bristol. She is survived by two sons, Alan S. Cabral, of Bristol, with whom she had made her home, and Kenneth R. Cabral of Florida, two grandchildren, Darryl J. Cabral of North Providence and Rebecca A. Simmons of Bristol, eight great grandchildren, Cody and Carissa Cabral, Evan Cheyenne, Arianna, Faith, Seth and Jacob Simmons, and a brother, Joseph A. Arouca of Florida. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Henry “Sonny” Arouca. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, July 21 at 9:30 AM in St. Marys Church, 330 Wood St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut St., Bristol. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Marys Church, “Restore Her Beauty Campaign”, 330 Wood St., Bristol, RI 02809. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Sansone Funeral Home, Bristol.
