Mrs. Barbara W. (Warry) Barr, age 77, of 8 Juniper Court, Bristol, died Monday, August 11, 2008 at her home. She was the wife of the late Thomas A. Barr. Born in Niagara Falls, New York, she was the daughter of Sidney and Beatrice (DArcy) Warry. Mrs. Barr had been a Bristol resident since 1968. She was an elementary school teacher in the Bristol School System at Andrews School for many years retiring in 1993. She was a member of the Bristol Education Association, serving at one time as corresponding secretary. She belonged to the RI Education Association, the National Education Association, Friends of Linden Place, and was a volunteer at Blithewold Mansion and Gardens. She is survived by a daughter, Melissa S. Barr of Bristol, a son, First Sgt. Adam S. Barr, US Army Ret., of Mt. Washington, KY, four grandchildren; Louie A. Ferro, Thomas M., Savannah and Madison Barr. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 10:00 AM in the First United Methodist Church of Warren and Bristol, 25 Church Street, Warren, RI. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting hours, Friday, 4:00-7:00 PM in the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, DC 20013 or www.american.redcross.org.
