Mrs. Barbara (Ferreira) Aguiar, age 85, of 12 Pearse Avenue, Bristol, died Thursday, July 26 at the Haven Health Center of Coventry. She was the wife of the late Joseph Aguiar. Born in Fall River, MA and a lifelong resident of Bristol, she was a daughter of the late Dennis and Bertha (Cooper) Ferreira. She was an Electronic Component Assembler at the Raytheon Corp in Portsmouth for 25 years, retiring in 1980. She was a communicant St. Elizabeths Church, Bristol and was a member of the Kaiser Retirees Group. She was an avid artistic painter and loved playing Bingo, Keeno and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by a son, Joseph V. Aguiar of Coventry, two grandsons, Joseph Aguiar of Coventry and David Aguiar of Warwick, four great grandchildren, Elizabeth Rose, Andreaus, Joseph and Sara Aguiar, a brother, Charles Cooper of Coventry and a sister, Dolores Booth of Bristol. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Lindsey Ferreira and a sister, Germaine Ferreira. Funeral Services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, Monday, July 30 at 10:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Elizabeths Church, 577 Wood St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut St., Bristol. Visiting hours Monday morning only from 9:00-10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation of RI, 757 Park Ave., Cranston, RI 02910.
