Mr. Anthony Cirillo, age 98, of Libby Lane, Warren and formerly of Bristol, died Sunday, March 11, 2007 at Haven Health Center of Warren. He was the husband of the late Jennie (Sandoval) Cirillo. Born in Bristol and a resident for a number of years, Francisco and Mary (Cavallaro) Cirillo. A former resident of Hollister, CA, he owned and operated Harvestor Auto Wrecking Company in Harvestor, CA for 15 years, retiring in 1942. He previously was a field worker in California and the former Worsted Mill in Bristol previous to moving to CA. He was a communicant of St. Marys Church, Bristol and had served in the RI National Guard from 1927-1930 and was activated during WWII, he was the oldest living RI National Guard Veteran. He is survived by three sisters, Theresa Tangredi, of New Jersey, Mary Karnes and Elvira Groff, both of Bristol, a sister-in-law, Ida Cirillo of Sumter, SC, also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by five brothers, Michael, Angelo, Fred and Dominic Cirillo, Frank Soignoli, and four sisters, Rose Borges, Corina Matarese, Wilhelmina Marshall and Corina Soignoli. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Thursday, March 15, at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial with Military Honors will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting hours Thursday morning only at 9 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Fatima High School, 360 Market Street, Warren, RI 02885.
