Anita Bloomer

Mrs. Anita (Furtado) Bloomer, age 75, of Narrows Road, Bristol, entered eternal life on Wednesday, June 17, 2009. She was the wife of the late Perry H. Bloomer. Born in Bristol, and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Rita (Andrade) Furtado. Mrs. Bloomer worked for the Town of Bristol as the administrative assistant to the Town Administrator, she also worked for the Wilson Insurance Agency in East Providence before retiring from the Paquin Insurance Agency in Tiverton in 2006. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeths Church, Bristol, where she also was a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality, Holy Ghost Society and taught CCD to the confirmation students. She is survived by two sons, Perry H. Bloomer Jr., and Kenneth R. Bloomer both of Bristol, two daughters, Rita M. Bloomer of Attleboro, MA and Dorene A. Bloomer of Riverside, Three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Michaela and Savanah, a sister, Elizabeth Pepere and a brother, John Furtado, both of Bristol. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Carol Ann Carvara. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 10:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Elizabeths Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visitation Tuesday morning only at 9:00 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeths Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol, RI 02809 or Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
