LCDR Angelo Antignano, III, Retired, U.S.C.G., 73, of Bristol, RI, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, died at his residence after a courageous battle with glioblastoma as he was surrounded by his family. He was a gentle and kind man whose love for his family was at the heart of everything he did. He was the beloved husband of Stacy (Axtell) Antignano, with whom he celebrated 50 years of matrimony in July.

Born in Providence, RI on December 28, 1952, he was a son of the late Angelo Antignano, Jr. and the late Anna (Colontonio) Antignano.

He lived a life of dedication, service, and love. A proud and devoted member of the United States Coast Guard, he dedicated many years of his life to serving his country before retiring. His Coast Guard family and the experiences he shared through his service remained an important part of who he was.

He was an extraordinarily intelligent man who could fix, figure out, and understand just about anything. But perhaps his greatest gift was the wisdom and love he shared with those around him. He had a quiet strength and gentle spirit that made people feel safe, loved, and cared for. He would always offer to help family and friends and never said "no".

He truly loved life and found happiness in boating and fishing. Some of his most treasured moments were spent on the water with his family, creating memories that will last a lifetime. He especially loved teaching his grandchildren how to fish, patiently passing along his knowledge and sharing his love of boating and being on the water and attending his grandchildren's sporting events, in particular fencing, baseball and diving events. Those days together will forever be some of their most cherished memories.

He loved time spent on his boat, the "JuJuBee", in Narragansett Bay with family and friends.

As a husband, he was loving and devoted. As a father, he was a steady source of wisdom, encouragement, and unconditional love. And as a grandfather, he was treasured beyond words. His grandchildren will carry with them: the memories of his gentle hands, his stories, his lessons, and the countless special moments they shared together.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, kindness, intelligence, and devotion to family. Though his absence will leave an immeasurable void, his memory will live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

He was deeply loved, and he will be missed more than words can ever express. May he forever be at peace on calm waters, surrounded by the love of the family he cherished so deeply.

The family acknowledges Dr. Eric Wong for his professionalism and care for Angelo and keeping him here for the past 19 months. Angelo would try any treatment - always saying: "if I can help one person that will be enough."

In addition to his wife, he leaves his children: Angelo Antignano IV and his wife, Melissa Harper, of Qatar; Julie (Antignano) Brown and her husband, Michael Brown, of Louisville, Kentucky and Matthew Antignano and his wife, Lauren (Vaughn) Antignano, of Riverside, RI; his grandchildren: Laurence "Cooper", Ian, Julia and Charles "Fin"; his sister: Karen Ney and her husband, James Ney, of Parris, Maine and extended family members and dear friends.

Family and friends are welcome to attend visitation on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, RI.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 11:00 am at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, RI.

There will be no funeral procession to the cemetery.
