Alice F. Nunes

Alice F. Nunes, 92, of Bristol passed away peacefully at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA on Friday, February 16, 2024 with her sons at her side. She was the wife of the late Jose P. Nunes. Born on the island of Sao Miguel, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Francisco and Maria (Ferreira) Garcia. Alice was a communicant of St. Elizabeths Church in Bristol. She worked for Converse/ PF Miner Industries for many years. She also worked at Roger Williams University as a cook. Alice loved working and would often say things like "love and work hard". Her greatest joy was time spent with her family. Alice is survived by her sons: Joseph Nunes (Debbie Ross) and John P. Nunes (Sandra Durand); her granddaughter: Michelle Elks (Dustin); her great grandchild: Emmett Elks; her sister Judith Rego; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was pre-deceased by her husband Jose; her grandson: Justin Nunes; her parents Francisco and Maria; and her siblings: Maria Rosa and Manuel Garcia. An hour of visitation will be held at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 9:00 10:00 AM. Her funeral will start from Sansone Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 10 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Elizabeths Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol at 11 AM. Alice will be laid to rest with her beloved Jose at St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name can be made to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital.
