Alice Calhoun 97 of 20 Peck Ave, Bristol, died Tuesday, October 30, 2006 at the Silver Creek Manor Nursing Home, Bristol Wife of the late Samuel J. Calhoun She lived in Hackensack, NJ before moving to Bristol 3 months ago Born in Brooklyn, NY a daughter of the late James and Alice (Dowling) Reilly At an early age she appeared in Vaudeville with her brothers and sisters as part of a song and dance act as the “Five Reillys” and toured the United States appearing with notables as Kate Smith, Bing Crosby, Bob Hope and Burns And Allen. They also appeared as featured dancers in the Broadway Show “Hooray for What” staring EdWynn and Vivian Vance. She was an avid golfer and won several amateur championships in New York Upon retiring form show business she pursued a career in banking. She worked as an auditor for the Community Bank of Bergen County, Hackensack, NJ She graduated from the American Institute of Banking and was a member and graduate of the National Association of Bank Auditors and Controllers. She served as the President of the Womens Bankers of Bergen County, NJ She also was the bookkeeper for Sacred Heart and Holy Trinity Churches in NJ She was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church in Hackensack, NJ She leaves her daughter Mary Alice Perroni and her husband Dr. Joseph Perroni of Bristol Grandchildren Mary Frances Vesey, Joseph R. Perroni, Susan Lee Simpson, Peter D. Perroni, Sarah K. Hart 12 Great grandchildren A brother Francis Reilly of NY She was preceded in death by a son John Calhoun, two sisters Emilie Delnearo, Grace OBrien, brothers Andrew, James, Vincent, Raymond, Robert and John Reilly Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Monday, November 6, 2006 at 10:00 AMin St. Mary of the Bay Church Main St., Warren Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Bristol Visiting hours are respectfully omitted In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Beacon Hospice 1 Catamore Blvd, East Providence, RI 02914
