Mr. Alan Medeiros, age 48 of 130 Ferry Road, Bristol, died Monday, April 6, 2009 at Beth Israel Hospital, Boston, MA. Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of Jeanne Garrant of Fall River and the late Joseph Medeiros, Jr. A resident of Bristol for 29 years, he previously resided in Swansea, MA and East Providence. He was a graduate of Case High School, Swansea. He was a maintenance worker for Carnegie Abbey in Portsmouth for 2 years, he previously worked as an vocational education teacher for both St. Vincents Home in Fall River and Meadowridge in Swansea for 14 years and for many year to the present he was a self employed carpenter. He was a communicant of St. Marys Church, Bristol and a member of the Bristol Sports Club. An avid softball player in played in many leagues in Southern New England for over 20 years. He was a die hard Red Sox, New England Patriots and Boston Celtic Fan. He is survived in addition to his mother, a son, Jared A. Medeiros and a daughter, Jamie M. Medeiros, his companion, Eleanor Ligeiro, all of Bristol, three brothers, Joseph Medeiros, Jr. and Brian Medeiros, both of Swansea and Gary Medeiros in Florida. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours, Monday, April 13, 2009 from 4:00-8:00 PM. Kindly Omit Flowers.
