Agnes A. Costa

Agnes Aggie Sousa Costa 90, of Bristol passed away at the Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. She was a lifelong Bristolian and was married to her late husband, Joseph Joe Costa , for 65 years. She was the daughter of the late Virginio and Margaret Sousa. Aggie was a long-term employee of the Silver Creek Manor Nursing Home and began as a Nurses Assistant. She later transitioned to the Activities Department where she developed a passion for working with elders. She was a former member of the Bristol Seniors, Red Hat Society, Harbor Lights, and the Holy Rosary Sodality. Aggie was very creative, enjoyed craft activities and was an avid bingo player. She loved music and singing. Agnes took enormous pride in being a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her children: Richard J. Costa (Janice), Stephen E. Costa (Debra), Margaret J. Alegria, Matthew J. Costa (Micaela); Grandchildren: Kate Costa, Jacqueline Berkowitz (Bram), Kyle Costa (Lisa- Mae), Ryan Costa, Kerri-Lynn Andrew (Brent), Neil Constancia, Ellison Costa; Great Grandchildren: Kaelin Costa, Dustin Berkowitz, Avaya Berkowitz, Cameron Costa, Colton Costa, Gianna Castigliego, Rylee Andrew, Brady Andrew, Bryce Andrew, Anissa Berkowitz; her sister Mary Helen Tudino, in addition to extended family and friends. Agnes was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Joseph Costa, granddaughter Ashley Costa, her parents and brothers Dennis Sousa, James Sousa, Frank Sousa, Joseph Sousa, and Virgil Sousa. Visiting Hours will be held at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 4pm to 7pm. Her funeral will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022, from Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, RI at 10:00 AM , with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol, RI. Burial will follow St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. In lieu of flowers, Aggie would appreciate Memorial Donations, made in her honor, tothe Bristol Senior Center.
