Mary Federico

March 21, 1927 — August 16, 2007

Mrs. Mary (Nenna) Federico, age 80, of 24 Bourne Street, Bristol, and a resident for the past eight months at St. Elizabeth's Manor, Bristol, died Thursday, August 16, 2007 at RI Hospital, Providence. She was the wife of the late Frank C. Federico. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine (Mansi) Nenna. She worked for the former Royal Robes formerly on Wood St., Bristol, as a forelady for a number of years, retiring in 1987. She had previously worked at the former Priscilla Sportswear. Recently she worked for a few years as a cafeteria worker for Chartwells at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School in Bristol. Mary was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol and was the Chief Marshal of the 16th of July Feast Celebration in honor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in 2005. She was a member of the Senior Choir for over 35 years, a member of the Rosary and Altar Society, and a member of both the Feast and Bazaar Committees at the Church. She was the Honorary Chief Aide to Chief Marshal Manny Correira for the 2007 Bristol 4th of July Parade. Mary was also a member of the Hope Circle # 70, Daughters of Isabella, the Leonardo daVinci Lodge, Sons of Italy, the Senior Citizens Council and the Benjamin Church Senior Center, all in Bristol. She is survived by a son, Frank “Chick” Federico and his wife, Susan of Barrington, two daughters, Elizabeth Patton and her husband, David and Paula Volpicelli and her husband, Emilio, all of Bristol, a brother, Frank “Dick” Nenna of Uxbridge, MA, five grandchildren, Erica Federico, Michael Patton, Jennifer Harris, Laura and Matthew Volpicelli and six great grandchildren, Mikayla and Kaylin Patton, Teia Chenevert, Tyler Patton, Aiden Aguiar and Kianna Harris. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Frederick and William Nenna. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Monday, August 20 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours, Sunday, 2:00 - 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Bristol Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 775, Bristol, RI 02809.
