There is this silence now.
Gradually we will get used to it. But, for now,
it is strange. You have left such a gap.

All our memories of you are still with us
And although we ache from this loss of you,
you will always be here – as still and steady,
and fierce, as any star.
Farewell to you for now dear Uncle Ralph as your journey here on earth has ended and you have now returned home.
Love

Mr. Celone by far was my favorite Teacher. I had him in the 9th grade and there was never a dull moment, you looked forward to class every day. From opening the window in 30 degree weather, to putting a trick light bulb in his ear that lit up, it was always a great time. At the same time you learned and he never forgot you even after being out of school many years later. Well, I know I speak for myself and probably a lot of others, Mr. Celone, we will never forget you either, may you rest in peace. God Bless, Mike Serbst

Thank you all for your condolences and wonderful remembrances about Uncle Ralph. He was one of a kind and will be truly missed by all of the family and by all of you, his faithful friends. We wanted to pass along to you that Sal Annarummo, Ralph's very dear friend and fellow Colt Memorial teacher, has set up a "remembrance mass" for Ralph on November 17, 2017 at Church of St Margaret, 1098 Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford RI if you would like to attend.

To the immediate family of Ralph Celone. The ceremony today was beautiful. I especially liked the reading of 2 poems by Mr. Celone. I always enjoyed listening to him recite his poetry. I certainly hope that someone will publish a book of his poetry so that we may all treasure it for years to come. I would be the first to buy it. Today I celebrate his life and know in my heart that God has a mansion ready for him in heaven. Miss you.

To jimmy and lee and all the Celone family my most sincere condolences.
Ralph was my most memorable teacher. His comedic antics were successful teaching methods and his passion for food never to be forgotten. My class was right before lunch so I went to sam's for chorico special sandwiches, Buffingtons for cabinets and Sunset bakery for donuts and deliver them to the Andrews school boiler room lol.

My kids loved him later on when he would do karate demonstrations for them on the sidewalk in front of his brother Gene's store.
He was the best!
Thanks for the great memories Ralph and you will never be forgotten

I met Ralph when I was in 10th grade as a student in his history class. After 3 days I wanted to transfer out, but a fellow student said "Don't transfer, he'll grow on you", And that he did!
In my senior year, he took me and a fellow student to Boston to visit Beth Israel/Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing and then to Chinatown for dinner. That was a great day! One of many over the years with him.
He would often amaze me by his ability to write and recite poetry, prayers.or recall the names of his students and where they sat in class. He was one of a kind. I am grateful to have crossed paths with him and for his friendship over the years. RIP you wonderful man. "Miss Paula"

He was a wonderful man and teacher who I have always fondly remembered. I especially recall his interest in my playing quarterback for the Colts and advising me on my decision to attend the US Military Academy. He was a blessing in my life and I will always be grateful to him. God Bless and Keep You, Mr. Celone.

Ralph Celone was truly one of a kind; He taught me American History in 11th grade, and I remember so well him sketching some events that we had talked about in class on the blackboard as sort of an "I.D." section of a test, in addition to our answers to essay questions. The stories could go on.......I am so grateful I was able to reconnect with him when I was in short term rehab at St. Elizabeth's Manor after an illness in 2006. Of course, he still remembered my birthday! What a memory the man had. We were all the better for having known him. So he is at peace now and forever.

For year after his teaching was over, our family would speak of the wonder of Mr. Celone. How is it that over a half a century later, we can still recite that "The Ninevah fell in 612" ? When your history teacher pranced across the front of his classroom singing it, that's how.
Names like Celone and Borges will always be apart of Bristol teaching history. A kinder sweeter man you will not find. I hope heaven has a "babershop" waiting for you. Thank you for teaching us all about history and life.

Love,

Rhea, Tina, Andrew, Danny and Kenny

So many fond memories of Mr. Celone trying his best to teach US history back in 1969. Hiding in a locker in my class room and wondering where the heck he was, pounding on my desk yelling "the Stamp Act! and other cherished thoughts. I have often thought of him. My sincere condolences to your family.

Mr. Celone was that popular name at Bristol High Colt High not only for my class of 1965_but for many other who had the opportunity to have Mr. Celine for their History teacher for Sophomore, Junior, and Senior year. Our classes would have to be done right and he wanted his students to know their history to their best for that was his goal and important to him. Even when it was stressful he would brighten up the mood in the room with some of his antics, and he was such a natural at them. He will be sadly missed by many of us graduates thru the years at Colt but we have the memories of such a special teacher he was to many of us individually. He was and still is loved by many for who he was and what he did just to teach us History. RIP Mr. Celine be reunited with the rest of your family now and get together so you all can pick up where you left off. God Bless.

Sometimes in life someone comes along a teacher, a mentor, etc. who changes everything. You, Mr Celone, were that person for me. Being a Portuguese immigrant, the lastest group to arrive in Bristol was not easy. There was bullying, accusations of eating too much kale, etc. etc. how ridiculous I know. But in your class all that disappeared and you were just a kid hoping you would be called on to go behind the newspaper where you would share the treats you were enjoying with a the lonely kid in the class. You truly helped me to see my self worth, my intelligence in a world that kept
trying to knock you down. My Biggest regret was and is that I did not stay in touch with you all these years. Rest easy and may heaven have an unending supply of candy, cookies, cakes, all your favorites. Thank you kind man from a student who will always be great full. Just in case you haven't figured it out you you were my absolute favorite.
With much Love and admiration your grateful student. Mary Mello Brown from the High St way, aka vacumn cleaner, aka Mary Mud

Dear Mr. Celone! You were the best, best teacher with the best sense of humor ever. You taught me so much, always with humor. You made me feel special, called me a "little lost lamb" (which I was), and managed to single out each and every student with loving humor. Rest in peace, Mr. Celone, God bless you.

How often I think of Mr. Celone. Whenever we would see each other he always remarked how he remembered me back in the 5th grade at Reynolds School in the 1951/1952 school year when I wore two of the longest braids he ever had ever seen, and that I was left-handed. Yes, and he was the only teacher to take so much extra time to work with me to make my horrible left-handed penmanship legible! RIP Mr. Celone, and once again thank you for your patience with me.

What an extraordinary man was he! He was my history teacher at BHS from 1977 to 1980 and I will never forget the laughs we had with him. He was just "one of a kind". I visited him at the nursing home a few times and he was always in good spirits when I arrived. He spoke of many of his favorite students and remembered some of the best moments. I simply loved this man. Not only was he a dedicated teacher but he made it fun and interesting. He took it seriously and he wanted us all to learn, no matter what it took. Sometimes it took some scolding, other times just being silly did the trick. There just isn't going to be anyone like him ever. I will miss you Mr. Celone. Know that you made a difference in my life and the lives of others. God bless.
