Mrs. Maureen E. (Sherry) Castriotta, age 75 of Dimond Avenue, Bristol, died Saturday, May 6, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Louis Castriotta, Jr., her husband of 44 years, who preceded her in death in 2006. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of Richard and Eleanor (Tabor) Sherry. A resident for 55 years, she previously resided in Warren. Maureen received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1962 from Salve Regina University. She was a certified nursing assistant for 15 years for St. Elizabeth’s Manor, Bristol retiring in 2012. A communicant of St. Mary of the Bay Church in Warren, she was a former member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Maureen loved spending time with her family, doing knitting, bead-work and crafts. She is survived by four children; Louis Castriotta, III (Suzanne) of Swanzey, NH, Richard L. Castriotta (Kristen J.) of Bristol, John J. Castriotta (Kristen E.) of Swansea, MA and Mary Ellen McShane (Bryan) of Warren, ten grandchildren; Jennifer, Allison, Kenzie, Coby, T.J., Colin, Remi, Madyn, Kyle and Jake, and two great grandchildren; Harry and Julian, a cousin, MaryLou McElroy and her beloved dog, Josie. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 9:30 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main Street, Warren. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours Friday, May 12, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 PM.
