Mrs. Cora F. Guido, age 89 of 160 Franklin Street, Bristol, died Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Silver Creek Manor, Bristol following a brief illness. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Adeline (Farias) Benevides. Cora was a winder at the former Premier Thread Company formerly in Bristol for 24 years, retiring in 1983. She previously worked at the former US Rubber Company. A communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Church, Cora loved cooking, singing, music and most of all spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by three children; Karen A. Guido, and her twins, Corrine E. Martin (Joseph) and Edward R. Guido, Jr., all of Bristol, four grandchildren; Courtney Rego (Michael), Ross DelToro, Lindsey Mello (Steven) and Edward Verna and four great grandchildren; Olivia and Dylan Rego, Kyle DelToro and Milania Kate Mello. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph W. Guido, brothers; Joseph, August, Alipio, Peter and Anthony Benevides, and sisters; Kathleen “Cappy” Marino, Madeline Mitchell, Mary Amaral and Elsie Pastore. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 9:00 AM in St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
